520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Himalaya possesses high potentiality of occurrence of devastating landslide every year in Uttarakhand because falls under a tectonically active zone and eventually causes huge property loss. Present study is focusing on one such Landslide at Dehra Dun with the help of Remote Sensing and GIS technology. Find out most vulnerable locations and prepare landslide hazard zonation maps Based different particle velocity of the sediments. To assess the landslide damage by means of Remote Sensing technology using Landsat imagery 2014(ETM+.SLC off)is rated as a quick solution for rescue operation during and after an event. If integrated with modelling of that event using numerical simulation method, it may facilitate proper forecasting and selection of protective measurement to minimize life and property loss. In this context, preparation of landslide inventory, damage assessment, hazard mapping and subsequently risk analysis was attempted at slide prone Dehra Dun anChakrata in Uttarakhand. for susceptibility mapping, twelve thematic layers viz., Geology, Geomorphology, Slope aspect, Relative Height, Distance from lineament, faults and streams, Soil erosion, Soil depth, Vegetation and Landuse/ Landcover were prepared mostly by visual interpretation with help of published maps and literature survey.
