| General note | The Rural development generally refers to the process of improving the
quality of life and economic well-being of people living in relatively isolated
and sparsely populated areas. Geographic information system (GIS) is a
computer based information system that has the capability of handling all
kinds of spatial data for decision making. GIS enables the input, management, manipulation,
analysis, modeling, output and dissemination of spatially
referenced land relative data. The principal application of GIS in rural development
is land and resource mapping, integration of local and scientic
spatial knowledge, area planning, environmental management and natural
hazards. In this project, an attempt has been made to focuses on long-term
development plan for Taju in the planning environment. The rural development
programs in Taju village mainly aim the overall development of village
to improve the quality of life in Taju. For better analysis, planning and suggestions
ArcGIS and QGIS softwares are used. These software bring dierent
charts, tables and map for the visual representations and this help to organise
information to show patterns and relationships. The present study in Taju
village emphasize the power of GIS Technology which will help the authorities
to better understand and evaluate spatial data for identifying and solving the
problems by creating graphic displays using information from the data base. |
