Satellite based rainfall assessment for Kerala floods

<br/><br/> The project is to understand the Kerala floods of 2018, precipitation data from global<br/>Precipitation Measurement (GPM), Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG)<br/>Late precipitation product are analysed to see the spatial distribution of rainfall during 2018<br/>and its comparison with previous years is done to see the variability in pattern of rainfall and<br/>flooding impact.  IMERG version 5 (V05) level 3 products are used in this study. The level 3<br/>products include gridded rainfall and snowfall data, with 0.1◦ × 0.1◦ spatial resolution and 30<br/>min temporal resolution, generated from combining PMW and IR data of the GPM<br/>constellation satellites, and calibrated by gauge analysis of the Global Precipitation<br/>Climatology Centre (GPCC). <br/> <br/><br/>
