A social networking service (also social networking site, SNS or social media) is an online
platform that people use to build social networks or social relations with other people who
share similar personal or career interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections. The
growth of social media over the last decade has revolutionized the way individuals interact
and industries conduct business. We attempt to extract the special data from social
networking applications like facebook and twitter, analyzing the data on the most relevant
and controversial topic “tsunami” and “demonetization” and analyze it using R for
understanding the behavior of people. First of all we extracted the data from facebook on the
topic “tsunami” using facebook developer app. Thus we got a world wide data to get more
precise data we extracted it from twitter on the topic “demonetization” using twitter.apps. we
Geocoded the extracted data and plotted it. The further sentimental analysis will be
conducted in the coming semester.
